Welcome Christen Press to Angel City FC!

Angel City FC signed their first player in franchise history, Christen Press! Commonly known as CP23, Christen grew up in the Palos Verdes area and has a ton of soccer accolades in the SoCal area. Like fellow USWNT star & ACFC owner Julie Foudy, Press played for the Stanford Cardinals and has played on various club teams all along her kickass soccer career.

The Valkyries along with the other SG supporter groups welcomed Press at a community service event. We worked together to put together over 1,200 hygiene kits for the Downtown Women’s Center, dedicated to ending women’s homelessness in the greater LA area through housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy.

In anticipation for Pride Month, we are excited to announce our new Valkyrie Pride Shirt with all proceeds going to the LA LGBT Center. Today, the Center’s nearly 800 employees provide services for more LGBT people than any other organization in the world, offering programs, services, and global advocacy that span four broad categories: Health, Social Services and Housing, Culture and Education, Leadership and Advocacy. The message of “Love Is Love” is what we choose to highlight both in English and Norse Runics as a tribute to our Valkyries name. Shirts are $25 plus shipping or you can pick up in person at our next June event. We are also selling pride stickers for $1 (pick-up) and $1.55 (with shipping).

The NWSL returns to action with the 2021 Challenge Cup!

Matches will mostly be on Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network (CBSSN), with the final on CBS. While our team isn’t playing yet, it’s a great way to get to know the league and the players. 


Make a Pledge to Support Black Women for Wellness
Black Women For Wellness (BWW) is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization that is committed to the health and well-being of Black women and girls through health education, empowerment, and advocacy. In collaboration with other NWSL SGs, we are starting a fundraising campaign to benefit BWW.  You can help by pledging to make a donation for every yellow card shown during the tournament. Welcome to ValhalLA!

The Angel City Valkyries were founded out of passion for soccer and supporting women’s professional sports in Los Angeles. The founders come from all over the Southland, and are excited to see women’s professional soccer returning to Los Angeles in 2022. We stand for fun, passion and inclusivity. We can’t wait until the team takes the field and we can start showing our support through chants, tifos and fun! We hope to see you in the stands.
